DATE: 19 May 2021 – 04 September 2022
LOCATION: Tomorrow’s World, level 0

Can carbon capture help us fight climate change? Our latest exhibition explores the technologies being developed to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Right now, scientists are racing to develop different technologies to remove and store excess carbon dioxide—the most significant cause of climate change.

Our Future Planet will showcase the cutting-edge technology and nature-based solutions being developed to trap carbon dioxide—from conserving ancient woodlands, to installing processes that prevent carbon dioxide leaving power stations and factories.

Find out what could be done with the excess carbon dioxide in our atmosphere and what challenges are involved. What can we do with the carbon dioxide after it has been captured? And why can’t we just plant more trees?

The Science Museum is open from Wednesday 19 May. If you would like to visit this summer, please pre-book a free ticket in advance.

All visitors are now required to pre-book a free ticket in advance.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Children 13 to 16 must provide parents’ or guardians’ contact details in line with the NHS Test and Trace.
